Seconded

Third! of nine?

It could be, we need five more responses after this one. But yes! This website makes it worthwhile to check everyday, sometimes a few times a day!

Back on topic: this looks good and I might check it out. However, I would like to see a 4th or 5th year TOS series done in a way that is governed by the budget and other restraints of 1960s tv production. All these books and comics and the animated series let their writers’ imaginations be unlimited, but one of the charms of TOS is what they were able to do even within such tight restrictions.

I have enjoyed parts of Year Five, but one thing I’ve not enjoyed is how they bungled Gary Seven’s characterization. They’ve turned him into a murderous psycho, which is so not how he was portrayed in “Assignment–Earth.” I don’t understand this creative decision. Still, it’s otherwise a well-written series with BEAUTIFUL artwork. I just wish they had a better handle on Gary, especially since Year Five entirely contradicts other comics, including those from IDW.

I agree completely. The Gary Seven depiction is so jarring and out of character from what has been established that it pretty much ruins the entire series. I have been waiting for the reveal that he is actually the mirror universe Seven, because that is the only thing that would explain it.

I don’t usually read comic books — I’m so word-oriented that the pictures are wasted on me — and the ratio of story to pages is too low for my tastes. But this looks really interesting! Pre-ordered.
