Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Gates McFadden is launching a new podcast on Wednesday. It is titled InvestiGates and will feature intimate conversations between Gates and her Star Trek friends. The first episode is with Jonathan Frakes and we have an exclusive clip.

The following clip is from episode one of InvestiGates: Who Do You Think You Are?, the new podcast from Gates McFadde, produced by the Nacelle Company, the same people behind Netflix’s The Toys That Made Us and the upcoming History Channel Star Trek docuseries The Center Seat. Listen to Jonathan Frakes tell a funny story about his life before being a professional actor and helping out Superman‘s Christopher Reeve.
InvestiGates is a limited podcast series where the former Next Generation star invites some of her best friends to join her for intimate conversations. In addition to Jonathan Frakes, first season guests include LeVar Burton, Wil Wheaton, Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, John de Lancie, Robert Picardo, Michael Westmore, Nana Visitor, and Denise Crosby. Nacellecast promises that InvestiGates will feature “never-before-heard stories” from the stars and creatives behind Star Trek.

The shared love for jazz and knowing mutual friends/actors… and it was funny! You know you’re winning when it’s fun, funny, AND informative. I’m so excited for the next episode! Just finished it. I am sold. I honestly did not want it to end. I loved listening to these two banter about their similar experiences, like what made them want to get into acting, etc. It’s funny when Frakes curses, though, lol.
I loved his story about going to see MASH with his dad and they got in trouble together. It reminds me of going to the movies with my son and similar things happened. Good stuff.
I just listened to the second episode with Levar Burton. Not as entertaining as Jonny Frakea, but still enlightening. I love it when LeVar was talking about how import it is to him to treat the fans with respect. And the story of the cast going to lunch after their first table read. Love them
