Anthony and Laurie start the podcast with a look at a new interview about Star Trek: Picard season 3 with Sir Patrick Stewart, then round up other Picard news about Worf and the casting of the captain of the Titan. One of the interesting things about this episode is that Dal is actually starting to pick up some of Janeway’s mannerisms. You can tell that when they parallel the Janeways’ conversation on the Construct deck with Janeway Dal’s conversation with the Diviner in Sickbay. Kate Mulgrew is obviously brilliant in speaking volumes in very small ways. In that scene, Dal is still and he doesn’t say much, but you know exactly what he means when he says it. I have always known this show would be the slow and agonizing death of me, but wow.
I am very curious to see how this experience affects Dal! I feel like we will see some changes in him because of it.
My theory is that the young man in the Picard trailer is connected to Rafi somehow. In the trailer Worf is telling him that he used to be like her. So my theory is that the young man has nothing to do with Crusher at all. And certainly not a child.
Hmm… Raffi does have an adult son. Interesting!
Also I´m very glad they release dvd´s. I collect all of them because you never know with streaming services. I do tend to wait until there are a few seasons so I can get a box.

What if any surprise Voyager crew members are present (or even in command) at the big fleet that surrounded the Protostar.
That’s a great question. I guess there could be all kinds of people we know on those ships!
I really enjoy Prodigy, especially as the season has gone along. The show runners and writers have clearly made an effort to make this a Trek show, whether its pulling holodeck mechanics from the Technical Manual, or Phoebe from the Voyager novel Mosaic, or the merging of warp fields from Enterprise, they are really connecting this show to the greater Star Trek universe. My one small complaint from these podcasts is the designation of Prodigy as a “kid’s show”. It feels a little like an insult. Yes, Prodigy is definitely an all-ages show, but it is first and foremost a Star Trek show. Calling it a kid’s show feels a little dismissive of all the effort the creatives put into connecting this show to the rest of Star Trek.
I don’t say “kids’ show” with any negativity at all! Prodigy IS, in fact, a show for kids, and so I try to remember that when I’m getting nitpicky about Starfleet policy or process of something like that. In a live-action Trek show for adults, we need a lot more explanation for why something does or doesn’t happen; less so when the show is for a different audience. But it’s not a negative at all, not to me. The great shows I watched as a kid still have resonance for me. The designation is 100% correct and not a dig.
This episode was absolute joy! Kate Mulgrew and Brett Grey were hilarious! It made up for last week’s episode. I was laughing and on the edge of my seat. Never picked up my phone. I’m ready for the finale!

When are we going to hear from the young correspondents, Tony’s niece and nephew, again? I’d love to know how they feel about the show now.
I do hope to bring one or both of them back but I’m not sure that will happen by the finale. But I appreciate your interest in hearing from the kids.
